Staff and volunteers: at present (2008) the organisation is supported by our patron (Tamsin Dunwoody), 12 trustees, 68 paid-up members and about 250 volunteers.
The group has been steered successfully to this point with the leadership of our Chairman, Tim Rees; Company Secretary, David Bullen and Treasurer, Mike Hall.trustees

At last we have a full time Centre Coordinator, Nia Siggins, who manages and drives forward the Coach House initiatives. We will shortly have a Development Officer who will undertake the 'social enterprise and economic regeneration' (SEER) activities as well as an Education Officer in due course. In the meantime we are heavily dependent upon volunteers and community involvement. The community have shown themselves committed to the project and are never afraid to come forward and assist.

Some of the Community Groups have already become affiliated to Hanes Llandoch to facilitate their fund-raising and for management support. These include:

  • the Calligraphy Group
  • the Shakespeare Abbey Players
  • the Abbey Minstrels
  • the Village Choir
  • the History Society
  • Writers Guild

Hanes Llandoch has also successfully supported and organised functions in the village such as:

  1. 'Shakespeare in the Abbey' – an annual (August) event where talented actors and scholars combine with local aspirants to deliver Shakespeare in the atmospheric setting of the abbey ruins.
  2. 'Medieval Day' – an annual event (August Bank Holiday Monday) to celebrate the medieval history of the village. The attractions have included coracles on the ancient mill pond, Morris dancers, theatrical contributions by the One World Theatre, medieval foods and displays of armour and fighting skills.
  3. Concerts in the abbey with Aled Jones, the Treorchy Male Voice Choir and many local school choirs.
