TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
The SEER project within the Coach House helps identify training needs in and around the St Dogmaels area. SEER (Social Enterprise and Economic Regeneration) can help individuals and organisations become more economically active by helping them increase their skills level.
Recently, some food hygiene courses and fire safety training were held at the Coach House in St Dogmaels. The course was able to accommodate 12 individuals and the course was open to local enterprises such as bed and breakfasts’ as well as Coach Staff and volunteers.
SOME HANDS ON FIRE SAFETY TRAINING AT THE COACH HOUSE
Basic first aid training will take place at the beginning of
April with the 12 places already full. However, if there is enough demand, another session can be organised.
During March and April we will be running some IT courses for beginners as well as slightly more advanced web design courses. We will also be running sessions to try and help people get back into employment. We will be looking at CV writing, interview techniques, what to write on a job application, etc.
By increasing your skill level, you can be more attractive to potential employers. You may be thinking about starting your own enterprise but are unsure how to go about this. What skills would you like to develop to help you get started?
The SEER project at the Coach House is there to help local enterprise which will help stimulate the local economy in and around St Dogmaels. If you would like to know more about SEER, then please contact the Coach House. We hold drop in sessions at the Coach House every Thursday if possible between 10am – 12pm – simply call in for a chat. If this time isn’t suitable, you can always ring on 01239 615 389 or drop us an e-mail seer@welshabbey.org.uk
