Visiting Information

The interpretive information, permanent and rolling exhibitions and the Refectory Cafe of the Coach House Heritage Centre is open Monday-Saturday, 9.30am to 4.30pm. The Coach House is open throughout the year except for Christmas and New Year although the abbey grounds themselves are open to the public 7 days a week throughout the year.

Large groups are advised to make contact with the Centre in advance to enable catering to be organised and activities prepared. The Centre is quite small but can accommodate large numbers with pre-planning.

If there is a special interest that you would like us to coordinate then a range of facilities already exists:

• Audio-guide tour of the site
• Guided tours of the site and the village
• Historical tours around the village
• Flora and fauna of the area
• Presentation by local historians
• A day in the life of a monk at the abbey
• Artists in residence- courses or supported groups
• Educational experiences – visitors, schools and colleges
• Using ICT to access the past
• Business conference
• Internet cafe

We can be as creative as you can be imaginative – if you have the ideas we can make it work!
